Triggering Mission Control incidents from a map

If an emerging situation doesn’t automatically trigger an incident, you can trigger it manually from a geographic map.

What you should know

Procedure

  1. Open the Maps task and select a map.
  2. Right-click the location where the incident occurred and select Trigger incident.
    The Trigger incident dialog box opens.
  3. Under the Name field, select an incident type.
    The incident type is applied as the name for the incident that you’re triggering.
  4. Click the Location list and select the area or entity where the incident is occurring.
  5. In the Comment field, enter a short description of the incident.
  6. Click Trigger.
    The incident icon () is displayed on the map.
    Note: The incident is also displayed in the incident list in the Incident monitoring task with the state New. To view the incident, your administrator must add you as a recipient of the incident type.
