Monitoring ALPR hit and read events on maps

You can use the Maps task or the watch list to monitor ALPR hit and read events in Genetec™ Web App.

Before you begin

Select events to monitor.

What you should know

  • ALPR hits are displayed in real time on maps that contain ALPR units. When a hit occurs, a pop-up window connected to the unit opens, displaying the following information:
    • Hotlist name
    • Plate number
    • Vehicle image
    • License plate image

    The background color of the pop-up window is configured for the hotlist in Config Tool.

  • ALPR reads are not displayed in real time on maps.

Procedure

To monitor ALPR hits and reads in a map:
  1. From the vertical navigation bar, click Maps.

  2. Click the Select map list and select a map.

  3. Click Select layers (Three white layered squares) and select ALPR units.
    The map displays all ALPR units.
  4. To view recent ALPR reads and hits, click an ALPR unit.
    A side pane opens with a list of hits and reads detected by the unit.

  5. (Optional) Add a vehicle from a plate read event to a hotlist:
    1. In the Recent events section of the side, click a license plate read event.
    2. Click the New wanted () icon.
    3. Enter the required information.
    4. Click Add.
  6. When a hit occurs, click the pop-up window connected to the ALPR unit.

To monitor ALPR hits and reads in the watch list:
  1. Click Watch list () in the notification tray.
    The Watch list pane displays the events related to the ALPR entities in the watch list.

  2. Click on an event to display its details.
